Eclipse safety
The 2027 event offers rare multi-minute totality, but partial phases last much longer. Anywhere a bright crescent is visible (including southern Europe), you must use ISO 12312-2 certified eclipse glasses or equivalent solar filters.
On the centre line, only during complete totality may you briefly remove glasses to see the corona. As soon as sunlight returns through Baily's beads or the diamond ring, filters go back on.
